Directions

Kahauiki Village is an affordable, plantation-style community designed for homeless families. The project was developed as a result of key partnerships between businesses, government and other community organizations.  The project was first established in 2016 by Governor Ige’s Emergency Proclamation which provided aio Foundation the land lease to develop the homes and support structures.  Groundbreaking was in 2017 and the first 30 homes were completed in 2018.  Once construction was completed in 2022, the entire village was transferred to the Institute for Human Services, which continues to operate the Village and its support programs.  Today, Kahauiki Village houses approximately 125 families, all with children, and has a total population of over 600 residents.

Attendees will meet with aio Chairman Susuan Eichor, as well as Lloyd Sueda, the architect of Kahauiki Village.
