We’re excited to be back in-person!

Please join us downtown for our upcoming HSBP luncheon, which will be held at Cafe Julia at the YWCA on Thursday, April 21.

Hear the latest from Honolulu Board of Water Supply (BWS) Manager and Chief Engineer Ernest Y.W. Lau who will share the current status of our water system and supply as the U.S. Navy’s Red Hill situation continues to proceed. Lau will also provide an update on their immediate request to residents in the Aiea-Halawa and Urban Honolulu areas to voluntarily reduce their water usage by 10 percent, as well as insights on future impacts that businesses should be aware of as we enter the summer months and beyond.

Ernest Lau is responsible for the overall strategic direction and management of the BWS, with a focus on furthering the department’s mission to provide a safe, dependable, and affordable water supply, now and into the future. Lau previously served as the administrator of the Public Works Division under the State Department of Accounting and General Services, where he oversaw the planning, coordinating, directing, and controlling of a statewide program of engineering, architectural, and construction services. Lau also served as deputy director of the State Commission on Water Resource Management, Department of Land and Natural Resources where he worked collaboratively with the Commission members to set policies and make decisions in accordance with the State Water Code.
